About

I have been practicing exclusively bankruptcy law in Texas for over 40 years.  Unlike most law firms, my firm is exclusively dedicated to helping individuals and small businesses find a way out of their financial difficulties through the use of our nation’s bankruptcy laws.  Also, unlike most other law firms, my practice is completely virtual.  You can literally file bankruptcy totally from the comfort of your home.  From your first meeting with my firm, to the preparation of your bankruptcy documents, to your one brief court appearance - we help you start over financially from the comfort of your own home through the use of Zoom and telephone conferences.   So many of my clients love this feature of my firm.  No need to waste time and travel expenses coming to Waco to meet with me or to attend your court appearance.  Do everything by zoom and over the phone!  This is so helpful for our disabled, elderly and busy clients who love efficiently handling their case without needless trips to their lawyer’s office or the courthouse!

I have dedicated my entire professional career to the practice of bankruptcy law in Texas.  I served as either President or Treasurer or the Western District of Texas Bankruptcy Bar Association for five terms.  I served as the President of the Central Texas Bankruptcy Bar Association for eight years.  I taught a course entitled Debtors’ Rights and Creditors’ Remedies as an adjunct law professor at Baylor Law School for over ten years.

I attended Texas Tech Law School and graduated, with honors, in 1983.  While I was in law school, I served as an Editor on the Texas Tech Law Review, had an article on a bankruptcy related topic published on the Texas Tech Law Review and clerked for the Lubbock Bankruptcy Judge.  I have a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Trinity University in San Antonio.

I have three children whom I am so proud of.  My oldest son, Paul, is an architect in training at an architectural firm in Waco.  My middle child, Billy is a promoter of country western music and musicians in Ft. Worth.  My youngest child, Rachel, has Down Syndrome and Epilepsy.  Rachel has been hospitalized over 67 times.  She has given me a new appreciation of what a financial strain illnesses and disabilities can have on a family.

I am passionate about representing my clients and making sure that they receive the best representation possible.  I am also passionate about studying bankruptcy law to make sure that I know all of the latest developments in this area of law, which is constantly changing.  Let my experience, knowledge and compassion help you and your family through whatever has happened in your life that makes you believe that bankruptcy is an option you should consider.  I look forward to meeting you!
